Founder of the meerkat tour and very active when it comes to rehabilitation of wildlife. Easy to identify by his cowboy hat and always willing to entertain with a joke or two.
JD Glinister ( Owner )
Owner of five shy meerkats, loves to joke around and really get to know the people. Passionate about wildlife and nature especially the creepy Crawlies and snakes. Been working with the meerkats on and off since 2008.
Jenovin Fortuin ( Guide )
I'm Jenovin, one of the tour guides at Five Shy Meerkats. I'm 24 years old and grew up on a farm just outside of Oudtshoorn. In 2022 November, I started to do the meerkat tours here with my mentor JD. Since I was a little farm boy the dream was always to have a job outside in the veld so I started to study game ranch management at Nelson Mandela University. Three years later and I still love working with my meerkats.
Kobus Maritz ( Guide )
My name is Kobus. I am a tour guide at Five Shy Meerkats. I love going out every morning before the sun is out to welcome the guests before we go to the burrow system of the meerkats and introduce them to our guests. I love working with and meeting new people everyday. I'm looking forward to meeting you and telling you more about our meerkats.
